After receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1982, Neil was appointed by Janet Reno, former State Attorney and U.S. Attorney General, to the position of Assistant State Attorney. He quickly rose to the felony division and subsequently to lead trial prosecutor. During his tenure, Neil obtained extensive courtroom experience by personally handling hundreds of cases, from DUIs, thefts, and drug offenses to more serious offenses, including sex crimes, armed robberies, kidnappings, and murder.

Through these years, he acquired keen insight and knowledge of the criminal justice system and prosecution strategies while controlling all phases of litigation, from evaluation, preparation, and an evidentiary hearing, to leading the prosecution of the jury and non-jury trials. These would later become valuable tools he effectively uses to defend his criminally charged clients.

Neil then chose to join an established law firm specializing in criminal defense and personal injury law, where he tirelessly devoted countless hours to learning all aspects of personal injury law. He sharpened his skills while representing hundreds of clients, maximizing personal injury victims' compensation, and successfully defending criminally charged clients.

Neil’s passion for protecting clients constitutional rights were further reinforced after witnessing the true injustices injured victims faced when confronting well-funded insurance companies and criminally charged clients faced while being prosecuted by the powerful government with unlimited resources.
